Rallies held across Bahrain against al-Khalifah

Anti-regime demonstrations have been held across Bahrain on the eve of the sixth anniversary of the popular uprising against Al Khalifah rulers.
The rallies in some regions turned violent after regime forces started firing at the protesters and attacked them with tear gas. February 14 marks the anniversary of Bahrainis’ popular uprising against the Al Khalifah regime. In 2011, people staged widespread anti-regime rallies, urging the UK-founded monarchy to relinquish power. The demonstrations were responded with heavy-handed crackdown with many dead and injured. Bahrainis have been holding frequent demonstrations since then despite Manama’s deadly clampdown.
