Impeachment trial of S Korea’s Park ends, verdict looming

South Korean President Park Geun-hye rejects accusations of manipulating state affairs to extort money from country’s top businesses.

In a statement addressing the Constitutional Court, Park said she never made illegal demands on top South Korean firms. She also denied receiving any improper requests from Samsung Group. The statement was disclosed on the final day of arguments in the Constitutional Court, which will issue a verdict on whether to uphold Park’s impeachment.
