The German government has approved a draft law setting the stage for a mass deportation of asylum seekers from the country.
The interior minister also said Berlin expected a high number of refugees whose asylum requests would be rejected in 2017. He defended the draft law, saying it allowed authorities to handle the deportations in a better and easier way. The announcement provoked a pro-refugee protest at Munich Airport.
