The French foreign minister made the remarks after talks with his U-S counterpart Rex Tillerson at the G-20 summit in the German city of Bonn. Jean-Marc Ayrault stressed that a two-state solution was the only realistic answer to the conflict. Earlier this week the administration of U-S President Donald Trump said it would not insist on two states marking a sharp reversal of the decades-long U-S policy. However in a contradictory statement, the U-S ambassador to the United Nations says Washington does support a two-state solution
