Fillon, Le Pen facing financial scandals

Two months ahead of the French presidential election, a poll suggests that far-right candidate Marine Le Pen has increased her lead in the first round.

A BVA-Salesforce survey indicates that Le Pen’s party, the National Front would win more than 27 percent of the votes in the April election. The poll however, says Le Pen will be defeated by a wide margin in the run-off. Conservative candidate Francois Fillon is seen winning the race with 55 percent of the votes. Both Candidates are engulfed in financial scandals. Le Pen’s aide is being investigated over the alleged misuse of the EU funds. Fillon faces allegations that his family were paid for fake jobs.
