A Muslim organization in the Netherlands has lashed out at anti-Islam comments made by far-right lawmaker Geert Wilders.
Muslim umbrella group Contact Organ Muslims and Government has called Wilders' comments reprehensible. The Muslim group says this is not the first time and probably won’t be the last time Wilders uses such language. The reaction comes after the far-right lawmaker launched his campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections by reiterating his anti-Islam views. Wilders also used derogatory language to refer to Moroccans, blaming them for an increase in insecurity. Wilders has time and again made anti-Islam and anti-immigration statements. He currently leads opinion polls ahead of the Dutch parliamentary elections set for March 15.
