Ayrault: Trump seeks division in EU

Ayrault says the U-S is unable to offer enough benefits to the bloc’s members to offset their interests in the union. He made the comment in an interview with French media. Ayrault added that unity is emerging among Europeans because of U-S president Donald Trump’s repeated attacks on the union. The official also warned against attempts to interfere in France politics by U-S or Russia, saying the French will not have their choices dictated. Ayrault’s remarks come amid Trump’s random comments in support of Eurosceptic far-right politicians in Europe and his support for trade deals with individual E-U members, which is banned under the union’s law.
